These CSGO cross maps make your favorite map look brand new –

Experienced players can easily navigate their favorite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive maps, but change the scenery and it’s suddenly a whole lot more fun.

A CSGO Workshop creator named Henge has quietly released normal maps created with the assets of other maps. The result is both disconcerting and charming. Henge currently has six different crossover maps showcasing the concept, and they make amazing locations for CSGO lobby matches with friends. Here is an overview of the great maps with links to download them.

These maps are the creation of Henge, a CSGO mapper who has been publishing on the Steam Workshop since 2017. He specializes in recreating existing maps using assets from other maps. The result is strange, with familiar routes completely different from the landscape. His published collection includes the following maps.

  • Cache in the style of Nuke
  • Dust in the style of Dust 2
  • Desk in the style of Nuke
  • Dust-like Mirage
  • Mirage in the style of Nuke
  • Ancient in Aztec style

It’s easy to get lost in Crossover CSGO map skins

One of Henge’s first crossover cards is Mirage done in the style of Dust. The two settings are already quite similar, but mixing the Mirage layout with Dust assets makes it feel like a whole new battleground. Mid looks like something completely different from either card. There’s no chair on Dust, so the sneaky midpoint has been replaced with a humble potted shrub.

The second place to check is a version of Cache built from Nuke. It’s a much more drastic change of scenery, and it immediately makes navigation difficult. Dilapidated buildings have been replaced with blank mechanical pipes and steel walls. Site B even includes a nuclear reactor suspended above. Lucky for Henge, Nuke includes a forklift and car to keep Site A authentic.

Loading up these CSGO cross maps and going through them is in some ways cool and in some ways unsettling. Everything feels completely alien despite sticking to the original layout of your favorite existing maps. It can be difficult to tell exactly where the player is from a simple screenshot. As Workshop map skins, players cannot use them in official CSGO matchmaking. For your next full lobby, it’s a great way to experience something new and get everyone else upset.
