The first is gone: the Lada crossover will be discontinued due to sanctions

AvtoVAZ refuses Lada XRay. The VAZ crossover became the first model discontinued due to sanctions against Russia.

The release of Lada XRay will not be resumed and the model will be phased out. The sanctions made its production impossible. There are no spare parts for assembly, and it will not work to create a shelterless version of the VAZ without imported ABS or airbags. jpg” alt=”First is gone: Lada crossover to be discontinued due to sanctions” />

The fact is that the Lada XRay crossover is built on the Renault-Nissan B0 platform (like Logan and Duster) and imported components in its design account for about 30-40%. Thus, the steering and the braking system are completely foreign components.

A simple example: the last Lada XRay was completed in simpler versions without the EnjoY Pro multimedia system, since its parts were finished. Well, after Renault sold the VAZ for 1 ruble, you can completely forget about the supply of French parts.

Tolyatti thinks that a new, simplified urban version of the Niva can replace the Lada crossover. True, it is also not produced – AvtoVAZ continues to stand idle and constantly postpones the launch of the conveyor. Now they are threatening to do so on May 27.
