The The all-new Changan CS15 Crossover has been launched in the Nigerian automotive market by Zahav Automobile Co., a subsidiary of Stallion Group and official representative of the brand in Nigeria.
Unveiled at a media launch held at the Victoria Island showroom in Changan, Lagos on Saturday, the facelifted SUV is packed with safety and smart features.
Speaking to motoring journalists at the launch, Stallion Motors Sales and Marketing Manager Vijay Singh said his company rolled out the new CS15 to satisfy Nigerian auto enthusiasts’ desire for SUVs that combine beauty, smarts , strength and value for money.
He said: “Essentially the latest CS15 comes with ABS, airbags, anti-theft alarm, collision detection, electronic brake force distribution (EBD), a immobilizer, front and rear parking sensors, rear camera and more.
“The new CS15 is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to 5DCT (dual-clutch transmission), which generates 105 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque.
“Interestingly, as the nation and the rest of the world face the challenges of fuel price volatility, the CS15, which travels 100 kilometers sparingly using only 6.5 liters of fuel, is easy to carry.”
The Crossover also comes with an all-new chassis tuning, which results in comfortable cruise control around town or on the highway.
Indeed, the cute styling of the CS15 is proof that Changan’s designers have taken their creative prowess to another level, resulting in muscular exterior curves that transmit increasing power.
Facelifted with a modified grille and Sharp LED headlight, the latest CS15 Crossover is 4.135mm long, 1,740mm wide and 1,630mm tall with a 2,520mm wheelbase and 230-litre boot capacity, which expand its interior space.
Viewed from the rear, its horizontal design across the tail mixes sharpness and cuteness, just as its 17-inch flash sickle wheel commands attention all the time.
The striking styling of the Changan CS15 extends into its cabin, emphasizing individuality, dynamism and style. Equipped with automatic headlight, smart and convenient keyless entry + one-touch start, the interior comes with a 7-inch LCD touch screen in silver chrome, which supports interconnect and mobile phone mapping and other basic functions.
With up to 39 storage spaces, the CS15 makes use of its flexible design, as the folding rear seats and power sunroof give you and your family more comfort and flexibility.
As well as basic central control locking, the CS15 is equipped with additional smart features including rear park assist, rear view image, constant speed cruise control, front and rear power windows, electric adjustment of exterior mirrors, automatic headlights, headlight height adjustment, co-pilot car interior make-up mirror and air conditioning / pollen filtering in the car.
There is more. The front and rear are equipped with headrests. The rear seats can be reclined in an equal proportion of 40:60, increasing trunk storage space from 230L of daily use space to 1100L of additional space.
Despite its load of safety features, equipment and soft styling, the newly launched Changan CS15, according to Singh, is offered for as little as N12.3m, factors that encourage the CS15 to confidently flex its muscles against from the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, GACGS3 and Nissan Kicks, its main competitors in the country.
