The release date for the new 2023 Volkswagen Taos will be in late summer 2022. It will be available for purchase at Volkswagen dealerships across the United States and in various international markets. Trims offered for the Taos include S, SE and SEL.
The VW Taos is built at the Volkswagen plant in General Pacheco, Argentina.
How much does the 2023 VW Taos cost?
The 2023 VW Taos crossover SUV starts at an MSRP of $24,155, which matches the S trim. However, Volkswagen has yet to release pricing information for the rest of the Taos trim lineup. Additionally, the Taos 2023 costs a bit more than the Taos 2022, which starts at $23,495 MSRP.
Taos 2023: engine power and fuel consumption
All 2023 Volkswagen Taos models have a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which generates 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions offered for the crossover SUV include an eight-speed automatic and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Additionally, the Taos can be equipped with a front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive system.
For added efficiency, the Taos gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 28 mpg city/36 highway. If you have serious towing needs, you’ll have to look elsewhere, as the Taos is not designed for towing.
Taos 2023: seating capacity, passenger space and cargo capacity
The new 2023 VW Taos is very spacious compared to most of its subcompact crossover rivals, especially for the cargo area. It seats up to five passengers, with a total passenger volume of 99.5 cu. For storage, it has a rear cargo capacity of up to 27.9 cu.ft. and a maximum cargo capacity of 65.9 cu.ft.
What’s new for Taos 2023?
The 2023 VW Taos is a carryover model, with no major changes for the new model year. However, there are some feature upgrades in the Taos range. This includes some standard driver assistance features for all Taos versions: blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian monitoring and forward collision warning.
Additionally, the SEL trim adds a standard panoramic sunroof, while the SE trim comes with new IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology as standard. In addition, the S version equipped with the AWD system goes from 17-inch to 18-inch wheels.
