2023 Seltos specs: Engine options, 0-60mph acceleration and gas mileage
The 2023 Kia Seltos offers two engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The 2.0L engine generates 146 horsepower and the 1.6L turbo engine produces 175 horsepower. Power from the 2.0L engine is channeled through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the turbocharged 1.6L engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Compared to some of its subcompact crossover rivals like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Seltos offers relatively quick acceleration. It has a 0-60mph acceleration time as low as 6.6 seconds.
For the drivetrain, the Seltos offers either a front-wheel-drive (FWD) or an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that improves traction. However, the Seltos is not designed for towing. On the efficient front, the Seltos has an estimated gas mileage of up to 29 mpg city/35 highway.
What’s new for the Seltos 2023?
The 2023 Kia Seltos is a carryover model, but it offers a few feature upgrades across the trim lineup. This includes the Rear Drive Assist and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance features for S FWD and S AWD trims. Additionally, for a quieter ride, Kia has reduced the noise level in the Seltos’ cabin.
