New Fortnite crossover features characters from the best fighting game

fortnite has long brought popular characters from franchisees that have spanned video games and film. Skins can be purchased by players, and they often contain some sort of special dance or emotes that players can perform during gameplay. The new crossover comes in the form of street fighter. Official launch today, players from fortnite will be able to buy skins that will transform their avatar into Blanka and Sakura. The Green Menace and Ryu’s Protege will offer exclusive items in their packs. But that’s not all, as Epic also announced that Ryu, Guile, Cammy, and Chun-Li will also be returning as bonuses for a limited time.

The Blanka and Sakura Cup Pack will contain Blanka and Sakura specific items. Blanka will have the Blanka-Chan Back bling, which is basically a little Blanka toy that sits on players backs. A fun little backpack that will also electrify the more player kills in the game. Additionally, the backflip emote will allow players to perform one of Blanka’s most famous moves from the original game. All of this is topped off with the Tropical Hazard Kebab pickaxe which replaces the melee weapon and contains fruits that Blanka loves. His alternate outfit is that of the Blanka Delgado outfit, which is a direct reference to Boman Delgado from the game Rival Schools. Fortnite certainly did their homework on these skins.

Sakura, meanwhile, will receive an alternate Street Fighter IV outfit, victory emote, Hanakaze Claw back bling, and Fighting Tournament Trophy pickaxe. The back bling for Sakura is fantastic, as it looks like a little claw machine from which people win stuffed animals. Also, his pickaxe looks a little scary, as it’s a giant fist trophy that looks like it could knock everyone out. Duos in Fortnite will be interesting if players use Ryu and Sakura skins together.

Sakura and Blanka are part of the new wave of street fighter characters who have made their way into fortnite. Originally, Ryu and Chun-Li were selected first, followed by Guile and Cammy. Fans will be able to lock in all of these character skins, including their specific taunts and items at 5:00 PM EST tonight. Fans can rush to buy Sakura and Blanka, but also revisit the other fan favorite street fighter skins they may have missed the last time they debuted on fortnite.

The Blanka and Sakura Cup was held on April 27 for fortnite mobile and on April 28 for fortnite on all other platforms. Instead of cash prizes for this single-player tournament, players were treated to the loading screen that paid homage to Street Fighter 2, as Blanka does her death move on a car and Sakura also kicks in the car. It’s unclear if this loading screen will make its way to the game store after this tournament that just took place. However, all these street fighter skins will be available for purchase tonight at 5:00 PM EST.
