Most Reliable Used Trucks: 2019 Edition of Pickup Trucks

Those who buy a truck know that having a reliable vehicle is essential. If anyone knows how to find the most reliable used trucks, it’s JD Power. The Vehicle Reliability Study and Initial Quality Study get direct reports from owners about any problems the vehicle might have. These issues are recorded over a period of years and provide insight into the actual ownership of the truck, SUV or car being tested.

the J.D. Power The 2022 U.S. Vehicle Reliability Study (VDS) still offers valuable insights into the reliability of new and used cars. In this case, JD Power chose the 2019 Nissan Frontier as one of the most reliable used trucks. The Nissan Frontier was the top-ranked pickup truck in the study. The JD Power study looks at how many problems owners report per 100 vehicles (PP100). Nissan, as a brand, reported 205 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100).
The JD Power Vehicle Reliability Study studies how a vehicle has aged over the past three years. This includes what owners thought of the car three years later, if any software updates were made, and how the truck has aged. “Automakers are increasingly seeing owners’ relationships with their vehicles as having similarities to other consumer technologies,” said David Amodeo, director of global automotive at JD Power.
