There are various materials required for the production of semiconductor chips that are found almost exclusively in the two warring countries. This news comes weeks after Ford made the decision to suspend operations in Russia and make a six-figure donation to help those displaced by the invasion, according to the Detroit Free Press.
As part of our efforts to support the people of Ukraine, we donated 50 @Ford Rangers. Proud of the hard work of our Ford team and partners at @Maersk for making this possible. Shortly after the invasion, Ukrainian government officials contacted GM asking for large vehicles to ferry citizens out of war zones. The automaker, without much hesitation, gave it their all and has since delivered 50 full-size Chevy Tahoe utility vehicles. These SUVs were not intended for the US market, according to the report, and were delivered via a Polish military logistics center near the Ukrainian border. They were sent specifically to the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure for humanitarian aid. The two manufacturers also used the help of the shipping company Maersk deliver the vehicles. In addition to the full-size SUV, GM also offered six-figure donations and matched donations of up to $50,000 from company employees to select nonprofits to help those in need. .
