2022 GMC Hummer Electric

Quick take: The Hummer amazes as an electric supertruck with its insane acceleration, incredible off-road capabilities, luxury and epic utility. It’s far from being a “green” eco-vehicle, but that’s not what this tech powerhouse is all about.
Advantages: Stupid fast, tons of tech, off-road capability in spades
The inconvenients: Not efficient, boring in tight spaces, price
Road Tests Editor Zac Palmer – “I don’t think I’ve driven a more ridiculous vehicle this year, but that’s sort of the point with the Hummer. There’s a great argument against this type of electric vehicle in this sense that it doesn’t live to be an efficient, planet-friendly vehicle, but hey, that’s not the point. The Hummer EV is a supertruck and a wild technological masterpiece for the off-road of the same way a mid-engined supercar is to track performance being the electric vehicle that everyone drives to and from work (mainly because not many people can afford it), but that serves as a line in the sand of what can be done with electric off-road trucks, you’ll love it.”
Editor-in-Chief, Green John Beltz Snyder – “This Hummer revival is a showcase of GM technology and capability, making it an absolute pleasure to drive and a pleasure to use. Rear-wheel steering, ample power and assist advanced to the driver what would be an unwieldy juggernaut into a stress-free, go-anywhere, head-turning commuter.”
Editor Joel Stocksdale – “It’s huge, it’s heavy, it’s absurd and it’s awesome. The Hummer is what you get when you apply supercar-like engineering to a pickup truck. There are cool features everywhere you look four wheels It can go extremely fast It can go all kinds of terrain And it’s all electric It might be the coolest super truck ever built.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Quick take: The electric Lightning F-150 is the best version of F-150 conduct. It’s incredibly fast, rides well, and has competent technology at a reasonable price. It won’t replace a Super Duty for towing needs, but it’s the right truck for tons of use cases.
What it competes with: Rivian R1T
Advantages: Affordability, great ride, fast, lots of range, lots of options
The inconvenients: Price keeps rising, average fast charging speed
Road Tests Editor Zac Palmer — “Much of the population buying F-150s could upgrade to the Lightning tomorrow, and their lives would be vastly improved. Assuming you don’t tow heavy loads long distances every week, the Lightning is the superior F-150 to own and drive. I wish the price hadn’t gone up, but even as is, this electric pickup is a great buy.
Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder – “The Lightning is like a normal internal combustion F-150, but faster and smoother, with more charging solutions and smart technology. It’s an incredible formula if you tell me ask, or the crowd of owners and You might not like the range when towing, or the lack of different cab and bed configurations, but you won’t miss the prices at the pump. »

Quick take: The Range Rover returns in top-notch form, stepping into all the categories you’d expect from the legendary SUV. It’s opulent, has smooth, powerful engines, and can still take a beating off-road.
Advantages: High-end luxury, beautiful design, all-terrain capability
The inconvenients: Only average, expensive technology
Editor James Riswick – “Butter. Sexy, richly golden butter is the best way to describe the 2023 Range Rover. impression that the railway tracks like anthills? As Linda Richmond would say, ” whore “. The main steering, throttle and brake controls are all equally weighted, frictionless and impeccably precise…like a sharp knife through the supple Tillamook Extra Creamy. The deliciously soft leather and even its color in this particular Rover? Yes, butter.”

2023 Kia Sportage
- 2023 Kia Sportage SX Hybrid Prestige

Quick take: Charging on the scene, the new Sportage is radically different from the old and far better in every category that matters. We recommend the Hybrid, which offers a powerful and fuel-efficient mode of travel.
Advantages: Spacious, efficient and fun interior Hybrid, advanced technology
The inconvenients: Polarizing exterior design, base engine option is below average
Editor James Riswick — “The 2023 Kia Sportage looks like an absolute winner for the segment. It now has the space for family duty and the electrified versions demanded today for multiple reasons, while retaining the combination of distinctive style and strong value that has been a Sportage staple for two generations. The hybrid turbo is more fun to drive than the base engine and other hybrids, thanks to its conventional automatic transmission (versus a form of CVT) and the turbocharger that seems to smooth the transition between electric power sources and to essence in terms of sound and energy distribution.”
Joel Stocksdale, News Editor — “The Kia Sportage is easily one of the best compact crossovers you can get right now, especially hybrids. The torquey turbo engine, smooth automatic transmission and impressive fuel economy make it so. But either way, every Sportage is really comfortable, plus it packs a huge interior. This interior has a cool, modern design, useful infotainment, and it can be jam-packed with features on higher trims. If it has a weak point, it’s that it’s not the most pleasant to drive. But for just about any other need (comfort, space, style, etc.), it’s hard to top.”
