Dave Ziegler: old and new “crossed” recognition systems

Las Vegas Raiders General Manager Dave Ziegler continues to introduce his new Silver and Black scouting system.

Although the old and the new screening system are different, there are crossovers.

“It’s not a big hurdle to jump” Ziegler told the NFL Scouting Combine. “There was actually a crossover too in what they…what Mike (Mayock) had in place and what some of his scouting philosophies were.”

“There was a crossover there, so not exactly the same but not like a totally different language and so it’s really a little hurdle. Like these guys, they’ve all been scouting for a long time. Most of them have been in different systems during their career. So there’s more crossover, even in different systems, there’s more crossover than you might think.

Ziegler also says the only real hurdle is for everyone to understand the new screening system being introduced.

“There is an element of understanding, isn’t there? So there is a teaching element. But they’re good people, they’ve been there a long time, the staff that we have, so it’s really not that difficult, but again there’s a teaching element.
