Cool 2023 Colorado and Canyon Convoy secretly captured

The all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pair was once again seen undergoing testing. This time we captured a convoy of several trucks, all with less camouflage than before.
2023 Chevy Colorado & GMC Canyon: Our spy photographer reports:

We caught a convoy of four trucks testing less disguised prototypes for the next-generation Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. This is our first look at the new Colorado without its heavy camo, we also learn some new design secrets on the new Canyon. The close encounter on public roads revealed key design differences between Chevrolet’s and GMC’s midsize trucks. In total, we generated a large photo gallery, totaling 44 healthy images.

The new Colorado retains a similar headlight orientation as the current model, as the primary lighting remains in the upper corners of the front fascia. The LED signature should run along the top of the headlight cluster, for an illuminated “eyebrow” effect. The turn signals are located in the innermost parts of the headlights, above the corners of the grille. The fog lamps are located just above the front bumper.

The Colorado grille is made up of horizontal elements, with vertical elements on the outer edges of the grille opening. A thick strip makes up the top of the grille design and will likely contain either a Chevy bow tie or “CHEVROLET” lettering, depending on trim level. Both Colorado prototypes have prominent air deflectors at the bottom of the front bumper.

The GMC Canyon prototypes captured here represent two different trim levels, with different grille designs. One appears to be the Canyon Denali, while the other appears to be a simpler elevation or possible AT4 trim. All recent GMC Canyon prototypes have been fitted with a high-clearance bumper, suggesting that this off-road-friendly design will be part of the GMC Canyon in most or all trim configurations.

The front fascia design of the new Canyon is significantly different from the current model and represents a big departure from its Colorado counterpart. The Canyon’s new face aligns more with the rest of the GMC truck lineup, getting an LED signature lamp at the top of the front, with its main lighting units sitting lower in a separate lighting cluster. The Canyon’s overall LED cluster configuration will mimic those of the Sierra and Sierra HD.
Here’s a breakdown of the four convoy prototypes.
