Brett Moffitt returns to trucks in Kansas
After losing his NASCAR Xfinity Series roll for lack of funding, Brett Moffit landed in the Camping World Truck Series as he returns to AM-Racing for Friday’s race at Kansas Circuit.
“AM Racing is proud to have Brett Moffitt back behind the wheel of our #22 Chevrolet Silverado at Kansas Speedway,” said team leader Kevin Cywinski. “Brett has been an asset to our organization in his two previous runs with us and we know that given his talent and his background in Kansas, we will have the opportunity to fight for victory.”
The 2018 Truck Series champion raced Knoxville with AM in June, but crashed and finished thirty-second. He also contested the 2021 Knoxville race with the team only to retire as well.
Moffitt had been running full-time in the Xfinity Series since Our motorsports before leaving the team after Indianapolis in July over sponsorship issues. Our has since replaced Moffitt with a truck driver Blaine Perkins for the rest of the year.
“I’m really excited to be back behind the #22 Chevrolet Silverado RST for AM Racing in Kansas,” commented Moffitt. “We’ve had quite a bit of success at Kansas Speedway over the years in trucks. Thank you to everyone at AM Racing for allowing me to get back in their truck for this race and to all the partners for their support throughout this year.
Moffitt finished second and first in two Kansas Truck starts in 2020.
