2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition: Details
Powered by the venerable 6.2-liter V8, the Tahoe RST Performance gets 13 more horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque over the standard truck thanks to upgrades to the air intake and exhaust systems. Total power and torque now stand at 433 hp and 467 lb-ft, respectively, with power sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance benefits from a number of upgrades that were first seen on the Pursuit Tahoe PPV, including springs, retuned shocks, a larger diameter stabilizer bar and a recalibrated chassis. The ride height was also lowered by 0.4 inches (10 mm) in the front and 0.8 inches (20 mm) in the rear for better handling.
Compared to the standard 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST, the Performance Edition cuts the 0-60 time to 5.78 seconds from 5.95 seconds and can complete the quarter-mile sprint in 14.2 seconds at 97 miles per hour. It even stops quicker thanks to Brembo front-to-rear brakes, which feature 25% larger rotors than the RST and calibrated for capable braking feel.
Capacity was not reduced due to the extra scoot, and the RST Performance Edition retains its 7,600-pound towing capacity with the 6.2L L87 engine equipped.
The Tahoe’s interior has also been upgraded, with a standard luxury package that includes active safety and driver convenience features. Top it all off with a blacked-out RST performance badge on the rear hatch and a sport pedal set.
The Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition is an exclusive addition to the Tahoe RST and costs an additional US$8,525. Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 at GM’s Arlington, Texas plant, with availability to be announced later. Expect this special Tahoe to be super limited, especially as GM and the rest of the industry continue to grapple with supply chain constraints.
